Holts Landing State Park
Holts Landing State Park is located at 1914 W. Park Drive, Dagsboro,, DE 19803. Phone: (302) 577-1164. Open daily from 8 a.m. until sunset.
It’s a 203-acre park situated on the southern shore of the Indian River Bay. The park was opened to the public in 1965 after the Holt family sold the land to the state of Delaware in 1957.
The park is known for its unique pier, the only pier on the east coast of Delaware that has been purpose-built for crabbing, the recreational harvesting of blue crabs. This makes it a popular spot for both locals and visitors who enjoy crabbing.
In addition to crabbing, the park offers a variety of recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy the park’s natural beauty through its walking trails, or take advantage of the fishing opportunities in the Indian River Bay.
The park’s location on the bay also makes it a great spot for bird watching. The surrounding waters and skies are home to a variety of bird species, adding to the park’s natural appeal.
