Delaware Seashore State Park is a scenic coastal park located at 39415 Inlet Road in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The park, which was established in 1965, spans over 2,800 acres and is renowned for its pristine beaches, diverse habitats, and recreational opportunities.
The park is situated between Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach along the Atlantic coast of Delaware. It is bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay. The dynamic Indian River Inlet, which connects the Indian River and Rehoboth Bays with the Atlantic Ocean, is the epicenter of the park’s many activities. A beach lies on either side of the inlet, welcoming anglers and beachgoers who stay for the day or overnight at the park’s waterfront campground and cottages.
One of the main highlights of Delaware Seashore State Park is its stunning coastline, which features miles of sandy beaches and picturesque vistas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, and surf fishing along the park’s expansive shoreline, as well as surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the surf. The park’s beaches are also popular nesting sites for shorebirds and sea turtles, making it a prime destination for birdwatching and wildlife viewing.
More than seven miles of trails welcome hikers, bikers and birders. The park’s forests are part of the Northeastern coastal forests ecoregion, and it is home to species of rare songbirds and an old-growth forest. Anglers can fish for smallmouth bass, bluegill, and crappie in Brandywine Creek, and for trout in Wilson’s Run.
